Sunny came from the Buddy
Dog Humane Society, which is a no kill shelter with lots of
nice dogs. Here's the picture they took of him. ![[Sunny]](pictures/sonny.jpg)
I got him in June of 2000, and he turned 10 years old on October 1, 2006. He's settled down a lot since I wrote the section below.
Also, they fenced in the Fort Washington Dog Park, so I don't have to worry about chasing the bicycles.
He'll be 4 years old on October 1, 2000. Here's what the family that gave him up said about him on the Buddy Dog form:
Why are you giving up your dog?
Because unfortunately twice in the same week he nipped and scratched my daughters 11 yr old friend. I think he was just confused. Her whole family are so nervous of dogs. It a shame that he got confused and it has caused us to loose him. I think if he was fixed and listened to me and my kids, maybe by taking him to obedience school, we could have stopped him from jumping. He's a wonderful dog in the house. He likes my practicing (or at least puts up with it), and enjoys it when people come over to play with me and tell him how handsome he is.
Unfortunately, he's having trouble getting used to being a Cambridge dog, and having to share the sidewalks with bicycles, roller skates, joggers, and large groups of energetic young people.
The thing he likes best is being taken to the doggy park. Here you see him meeting a friend
and rejoicing after a good game of tag.
Unfortunately, what he has to settle for is going to the tennis court, where Lucy used to really enjoy playing fetch every morning, but Sunny is having trouble figuring out why anyone would want to play that game.
Maybe when he gets a little better at coming when called, I can take him to the park more often without worrying about him chasing the bicycles.
